Baby Diaries Privacy Policy

Welcome to the Baby Diaries website (henceforth known as the “Service”) brought to you by Baby Diaries, a trading name of Adam Phillips.

This policy provides you with details on the information that we collect from you and how we make use of your information. This policy may be updated in the future without prior notice so please check back periodically. If you continue to use the service you provide your consent to the changes.

Whilst this document necessarily specifies the details of the information of what we collect and how we use it, our guiding principle is that as parents we do not do anything with your or your family’s data we would not be happy with someone else doing with our data.

1. Information Collection

Personally Identifiable Information (PII)

When you create an account on our Service we ask for personal information that is required for the Service to function. This may include your name, your child’s name and your child’s date of birth. If you contact us for any reason we may collect further information during this correspondence as a record of the correspondence. By inviting other users of the Service to interact with your diaries you agree to share this information with them and acknowledge that we cannot control and/or be held liable for how they may use that information.

Payment information

If you choose to purchase a paid subscription we will collect additional information such as your address and credit card information. We do not store this information ourselves - it is stored securely on our behalf by a specialist third-party payment provider. At no point does the Service receive your complete credit card number. By providing these details you acknowledge that we cannot control and / or be held liable on behalf of our payment provider for any problems or incidents that may occur.


The Service allows you to upload files such as images and videos which we store on your behalf. By inviting other users of the Service to interact with your diaries you agree to share these files with them and acknowledge that we cannot control and/or be held liable for how they may use these files.

Log and analytics data

When you use the Service we collect information in order to inform us of problems that might occur and to help us improve the Service. This includes information that can be directly associated with your account. Some of this information is stored by third parties on our behalf. A list of the third parties we use is available at the end of this document.


We use cookies in order to provide the Service. You may block the cookies however the Service may cease to function correctly if you do.

2. How we use your information

Personally Identifiable Information

Baby Diaries may use your PII in order to contact and correspond with you about the Service as well as for other business purposes including marketing. We may also share your information with third parties we use in order to provide the Service including our payment provider, email handling service, data storage services and analytics services.

We may also share your information with sister companies of Baby Diaries or other projects associated with Adam Phillips.

In the event that another company acquires Baby Diaries, all data owned and compiled by us may be among the items transferred in the transaction.

We amy disclose your information when we reasonably believe we are obligated to do so by law in order to investigate prevent or take action regarding suspected or actual prohibited or illegal activities or if we reasonably believe that there is a thread to the safety of any person or property.

We will not sell or share your PII information to any unrelated third parties without your explicit consent. We may partake in marketing activities on behalf of third parties however they will not be given access to your PII without your explicit consent.

Note that if you explcitly consent to other uses of your PII we may use your PII in a manner consistent with that consent.

Non-Personally Identifiable Information

We may allow unrelated third parties access to non-personally identifiable aggregate information but will endeavour to do this in a way that does not allow individuals or family members to be identified. For example we may choose to publish a list of most popular first names for babies in a particular year but we would not include the details of individual babies without explicit consent.

3. Changing or deleting your information

Once registered you may review, update and amend information using the Service. If you no longer require the Service you may cancel your account and request deletion of your data by contacting

We will retain your PII for as long as your account is active unless we are required to keep it longer by law for any reason. If you choose to delete your account we will delete any diaries you own and all the associated files. Please note that in this instance there may be residual information such as log and analytics data that cannot reasonably be deleted.

5. Security

Your security is important to us. We follow generally accepted standards to protect the information submitted to us. In the case of credit card information we avoid handling it via the Service all together. However no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure and so by using the service you acknowledge that we cannot be held liable for any security breaches that may occur. This privacy policy and the Service are subject to the laws of the United Kingdom regardless of your location.

As is common in website applications, we make use of a number of third parties to provide different parts of the Service.
